The Big Fat Lie

Fat is NOT the ENEMEY--

And Your Body is Begging for the Real Thing

Did you know that consuming fat can actually make you less fat?

Somewhere along the way, we were taught to fear fat.

Not just be mindful of it, but fear it—cut it out, avoid it, demonize it. Butter was swapped for margarine. Bacon became taboo. Egg yolks? Thrown out.

Suddenly, our shelves, pantries, and fridges were filled with "low-fat," "no-fat," and "heart-healthy" products—engineered foods with little resemblance to anything nourishing or natural.

But here’s the truth that’s been buried under decades of marketing:

Fat doesn't make you fat. Sugar does.

We. Were. Lied. To.

Fat—real fat—is not the enemy.

In fact, it's ESSENTIAL.

Especially the kinds of fat that come from animals raised the way the Lord intended: on pasture, moving daily, eating what they were created to eat.

What Happens Without Fat?

For over 50 years, Americans have followed USDA dietary guidelines that promote high-carb, low-fat diets. We've filled our plates with grains and avoided animal fats, but what have we seen?

  • A skyrocketing rise in Alzheimer’s, dementia, autoimmune diseases, and behavioral disorders.

  • An epidemic of metabolic issues, inflammation, and chronic fatigue.

  • Kids with attention issues, adults with brain fog, and families wondering why they’re constantly tired, anxious, and sick.

The human brain is made up of nearly 60% fat. Every hormone your body produces relies on cholesterol as its building block. And every single one of your trillions of cells has a membrane made of fat. So what happens when you go fat-free?

You starve your brain.

You disrupt your hormones.

You break the very machinery your body relies on to function.

Let’s Talk About the “Food Pyramid”

Remember the food pyramid we all saw in school? The one that told us to make grains the foundation of our diet, with meat and fat at the tiny top?

That pyramid is upside down, y'all!!

MyPlate is a just as much of joke, but that's a post for another day.

The classic food pyramid promoted refined carbs, inflammatory oils, and monoculture-based grains grown with obscene quantities of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides—all the -cides. These inputs don’t just harm the soil. They make their way into our food, our water, our bodies.

And now we’re watching generation after generation suffer from diseases that were once rare:

  • Celiac and gluten sensitivity

  • Lupus, MS, and rheumatoid arthritis

  • Food allergies and intolerances

  • ADHD, anxiety, and learning issues in kids

The Healing Power of Pastured Animal Fats

God never designed for food to be “engineered.”

He gave us rich, golden pastured butter, clean-burning tallow, immune-boosting lard, nourishing schmaltz, gut-healing bone broth, and nutrient-dense raw milk.

These foods are loaded with:

  • Fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K2)

  • Omega-3s and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)

  • Cholesterol, which your body needs to produce sex hormones, vitamin D, and bile

They help regulate metabolism, reduce inflammation, and give your body the tools to heal, not just survive.

Fat from Regenerative Farms: Why It Matters

Not all fat is created equal. Fat from stressed-out animals, raised in confinement, and fed grain-based diets is biologically different than fat from animals raised on chemical-free pasture, moved frequently, and exposed to sunshine.

At 7 Arrow Ranch, we believe in raising animals with dignity—and in nourishing families with the kind of nutrient-dense fat that our ancestors thrived on.

It’s Time to Flip the Script

It’s not fat that’s making us sick. It’s all of the fake food. It’s highly processed, "enriched" grains and our dependency on them. It’s dead soil and a broken food system.

You deserve to eat foods that fuel your brain, balance your hormones, and support your immune system. You deserve butter on your sourdough. You deserve creamy raw milk. You deserve to eat like your great-grandmother did—and feel better for it.

Because fat is not the enemy. It's part of the solution.
