About the event
This is your chance to learn all about chicken butchering! Â Why is this important? Â With the supply chain issues we're seeing everywhere, you never know when you might decide it's time to raise your own food. Â Before you go down that path, though, come watch the process for yourself. Â If you feel extra brave, feel free to roll up your sleeves and jump right in to help!
We will walk you through the whole process, start to finish. Â From gathering chickens out in pasture, to dispatching, cleaning, and then bagging and tagging, we explain the what, how, and why we do things the way we do, and even explain the differences between how things are done on our small family farm vs how animals are raised and prepared for the grocery store. Â Questions are welcomed and encouraged throughout the process. Â We don't have all the answers! Â So maybe we'll learn sometime working side by side!
